Wimberley was FANTASTIC this
year!
Once again, our 2007 reunion was simply
great! The facilities at the Wimberley Community Center have to be the
most comfortable and convenient that we have ever had the joy of experiencing. We had
116 attendees, the Silent
Auction did extremely well (again), genuine German band music, and as always,
outstanding food. Given how much everyone enjoys the home cooked dishes
that are brought by each family, we will continue that tradition with more
potluck next year as well......
Dale Schultz brought back the wonderful
background music of a genuine German band recorded live. Since we enjoyed
our experience at the new Wimberley Community Center so much, we will be reunioning
there once more in 2008.
We could not ask for better facilities overall (probably the best we have ever
had!), and it proved to be central enough to
accommodate Wolles coming from all over Texas (and even a few outside the state). Many, many thanks to Terri Tuttle and her mother
Carolyn for their superb efforts as Co-Coordinators for the last two years.
For 2008, we will have cousins Melton Schultz and Loretta Snider volunteering as CoCoordinators. They will have some very large shoes to fill...but we know
they can do it! We're grateful and appreciative for the volunteer
service...
Financially, the Wimberley facility rent was already
paid in advance, $530 carried over from 2006 and $350 of that amount was spent on
2007 expenses (postage, paper goods, invitations, drinks, door prizes). We
received $350 from our Silent Auction, $420 from contributions to the hat, and
then there is the remaining $180 carryover from 2006. This gives us a
$950 cash balance going into 2008, with a forecast of about $650-700 in expenses
for the 2008 reunion.
Sincere thanks to all families for their strong
financial support...
Special thanks are extended to several:
Barbara Wolle for keeping the genealogy updates; Buddy Kralik for keeping us
connected via email; and Dale Schultz for keeping our addresses straight and the
wonderful music! Many special thanks to
every single family member who brought food (the buffet was yet another
memorable one) and to all those who brought items for the Silent Auction.
Many thanks and see y'all next year!
