Food
Please bring your
favorite meat and side dishes for a fabulous potluck feast! Please bring dinner (meat
dishes, salads, vegetables, breads, desserts, etc.) for your family and
guests and to share for others to enjoy the wonderful family recipes.
(p.s. If you have a family favorite/special dish, please bring it and
please bring along the written recipe. We’ll collect those and add
it to the recipe book underway from previous years and make those books
available at some point in the future…proceeds will go to the reunion
account.) Iced tea, lemonade, coffee, ice, cups, plates, utensils, and
napkins will be provided. Please bring your own refreshments if you want
anything other than beverages provided.
Fun
and Special Things
This year we plan on
adding the Chicken Dance and a sing-a-long...lots of laughs are anticipated!!
Also remember to bring old
photographs, letters, news items, paper clippings, etc. for the annual
reunion display table. If there is enough demand, we may have a scanner
and laptop available to digitally capture photos for posting on the web
site. Speaking of the web site, if you have access, please go to
www.wollereunion.com. This is an enduring and perpetual archive for
future Wolle generations to come.
Children's Corner
We need a
volunteer to organize this for the family this year. Games, puzzles,
coloring books, crayons would be great to keep little hands busy. We
have more of a need for this since there are limited activities for kids
at the Wimberley Center.
Silent and Live Auction-Fundraising
In
order to raise funds to prepay next year’s hall rental, contributions to
help cover future costs are appreciated (we’ll pass the hat). Folks
interested in donating items for auction again (hundreds
have been raised in previous years!) should bring things we can put out for bid
and sale. So bring ‘em on! This year we're adding a LIVE auction as well
and we are particularly interested in auctioning your favorite pies. Other
ideas for treasures to donate for the silent/live
auctions: knitted or crocheted items, artwork, quilts, crafts, old family
photos. For sale: anything homegrown (pecans, produce, plants, etc.),
anything homemade (jerky, sausage, wine/beer, jams/jellies, baked
goods). This is a great way to share hobbies, interests with each other
and take home something special that was made by kinfolk. Any monetary donations in the
meantime are also always welcome!
Music?
A German
folk band? Something related to our heritage would be great! Let me
know if you are interested and I'll put you in touch with others who may
respond.
Please
spread the word to anyone in your family who has moved or is not on our
mailing list. Make your plans to attend the 68th Wolle Family
Reunion now. There's not another crowd like this anywhere! Let's see
who can get the prize for bringing the most family members! Looking
forward to seeing you there!
